{"id":306,"date":"2016-08-22T15:04:30","date_gmt":"2016-08-22T15:04:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/eu-strat.eu\/?p=306"},"modified":"2016-08-22T15:04:30","modified_gmt":"2016-08-22T15:04:30","slug":"workshop-discussing-the-analytical-framework-for-comparing-approaches-and-strategies-in-vilnius","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/eu-strat.eu\/?p=306","title":{"rendered":"Workshop discussing the analytical framework for comparing approaches and strategies in Vilnius"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On 14 July 2016\u00a0EU-STRAT held a workshop discussing the analytical framework for comparing approaches and strategies of selected external actors at the Institute of International Relations and Political Science, Vilnius University. \u00a0Participants from four EU-STRAT partner institutions attended the workshop: <strong>Ram\u016bnas Vilpi\u0161auskas, Dovil\u0117 Jakni\u016bnait\u0117, Laurynas Jonavi\u010dius, Margarita \u0160e\u0161elgyt\u0117<\/strong> from Vilnius university, <strong>Kataryna Wolczuk <\/strong>and <strong>Rilka Dragneva-Lewers<\/strong> from the University of Birmingham<strong>, Dirk Lehmkuhl<\/strong> from the University of St.Gallen and <strong>Valentin Lozovanu<\/strong> from the Institute for Development and Social Initiatives.\u00a0The aim of the workshop was to explore and discuss the analytical framework for comparing approaches and strategies of the EU and other selected external actors vis-\u00e0-vis EaP countries in key sectors, namely energy, trade, security, and migration.\u00a0Five presentations of scholarship\u00a0in five areas (Geopolitics\/geo-economics, IR approaches; Regionalism and international organizations approaches; Alliance building and regional cooperation\/transformative power; Democracy promotion; Political economy of reforms) were discussed during the workshop to provide an overview of existing literature, its gaps and potentially useful insights from the view of the EU-STRAT project.
